Episcopal Inauguration of Our Church

The parish joyfully witnessed a historic and spirit-filled moment during the Episcopal Inauguration of our church, a ceremony graced by two distinguished bishops of the Church of Nigeria North America Mission (CONNAM). The event brought renewed excitement, thanksgiving, and a fresh sense of mission to the entire congregation.

The re-inauguration was led by The Rt Rev’d Dr Martyn Anigbogu, then Coordinating Bishop of CONNAM, alongside The Rt Rev’d Celestine Ironna, Bishop of the CONNAM Southeast Region, who attended the ceremony with his wife. The presence of the two bishops provided a strong symbol of unity, continuity, and the growing missionary work of the Anglican Church in North America.

In his address, Bishop Anigbogu emphasised the importance of strengthening local congregations, deepening discipleship, and expanding the mission of Christ in the diaspora. He commended the parish for its resilience, commitment to Anglican identity, and dedication to gospel witness.

Bishop Ironna, accompanied by his wife, brought warm words of encouragement, reminding the church of its calling to love God, serve the community, and remain steadfast in worship and prayer. His participation added a pastoral touch, reinforcing the bond between the parish and the Southeast Region of CONNAM.

The service featured joyful worship, prayers of thanksgiving, and blessings over the church’s ministries, leadership, and members. The re-inauguration marks a new chapter in the life of the parish—one characterised by renewed vision, stronger fellowship, and deeper commitment to the work of God.

The congregation departed uplifted, grateful, and spiritually strengthened, ready to continue shining the light of Christ in the community.
