The Church of Nigeria North American Mission (CONNAM) serves as a vital missionary arm of the Church of Nigeria (CON), actively engaged in spreading the gospel and establishing Anglican communities in North America. Initially formed in 2005 as the Convocation of Anglicans in North America, CONNAM primarily consisted of churches that had disassociated from the Episcopal Church in the United States of America (ECUSA). While previously partnered with the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA), CONNAM has transitioned to a mutually supportive relationship primarily through shared membership in GAFCON, emphasizing its commitment to orthodox Anglican principles.
Under the dynamic leadership of the Primate of All Nigeria, His Grace, The Most Rev. Dr. Henry Ndukuba, CONNAM operates with a clear vision and unwavering commitment to advancing the Anglican faith in North America. His Grace’s guidance and pastoral oversight provide the foundation upon which CONNAM’s mission endeavors are built, ensuring alignment with the broader mission goals of the Church of Nigeria.
The coordinating Bishop of CONNAM is His Lordship, The Rt Revd Dr Augustine Unuigbe. As a respected figure within the CONNAM, His Lordship brings extensive experience and strategic insight to his role, facilitating effective communication and collaboration among CONNAM’s leadership and stakeholders.
Playing a pivotal role in the implementation of CONNAM’s mission objectives is the The Rt Revd Celestine Ironna serving as the Missionary Bishop. With a heart for evangelism and community outreach, Bishop Ironna provides hands-on leadership and pastoral care to congregations and ministries within his jurisdiction, fostering growth and vitality in the missionary region.
