The Church of Nigeria North America Mission (CONNAM) held its highly anticipated annual convention, tagged “ATLANTA 2025,” from 31st October to 2nd November 2025 at Christ Anglican Church, Marietta, Georgia. This year’s gathering brought together clergy, laity, mission partners, and delegates from across the United States and Canada for a spiritually enriching and mission-focused assembly.
Anchored on the powerful theme, “The Rod of God in Your Hands” (Exodus 4:17), the convention explored the authority, responsibility, and divine empowerment entrusted to believers as God’s instruments for mission and transformation.
A Spirit-Filled Opening
The convention opened with vibrant worship, uniting participants in thanksgiving and expectation. Workshops, Bible expositions, and plenary sessions centred on spiritual empowerment, mission strategy, Anglican identity, and leadership development were held across the three-day event.
Coordinating Bishop’s Address
The Coordinating Bishop of CONNAM, Rt Revd Dr Augustine Unuigbe, delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the growth, challenges, and opportunities within the mission. He emphasised the urgency of evangelism, discipleship, unity, and the need for increased missionary commitment across North America. Bishop Unuigbe encouraged all CONNAM parishes and leaders to wield the “rod of God” with boldness, faith, and obedience, reminding them that God’s power is made manifest through surrendered vessels.
Primate’s Charge Delivered by the Dean
The Primate of the Church of Nigeria, through a special charge conveyed by the Dean of the Church of Nigeria, His Grace, the Most Revd Dr Blessing Enyindah, re-affirmed the commitment of the Mother Church to the mission in North America. The Primate’s message called for steadfastness in doctrine, deeper spiritual formation, and renewed missionary zeal. His charge also commended CONNAM for its continued expansion and urged the mission to remain faithful to the biblical and Anglican heritage entrusted to it.
Impactful Sessions and Fellowship
Participants engaged in impactful teaching sessions, intercessory prayers, leadership clinics, youth and children’s programmes, and uplifting worship experiences. Testimonies of God’s grace, healing, and revival marked the convention, strengthening unity among the various missionary regions.
The convention also provided a platform for strategic discussions on church planting, mission partnerships, clergy development, and the future direction of CONNAM’s work across North America.
A Call to Action
“Atlanta 2025” concluded with a renewed sense of purpose as delegates were charged to go forth as God’s representatives, carrying His authority—symbolised by “the rod of God”—into their communities, ministries, and personal lives. The convention closed with prayers of dedication and blessings over all participants.
The 2025 CONNAM Convention will be remembered as a defining moment of spiritual reawakening, leadership strengthening, and missionary recommitment for the Anglican family in North America.
